
Family & Alumni Growth and Persistence Manager
As a key member of the management team, the Family & Alumni Growth and Persistence Manager will be responsible for supporting alumni's holistic growth and college and career advancement. They will also be responsible for helping parents understand the college and career preparation process, doing home visits, and conducting parenting workshops in collaboration with partners. Additionally, they will work with the Chief Operations Officer to track alumni success, and family engagement and monitor Elevate's two-gen mentoring. The Family & Alumni Growth and Persistence Manager will report directly to the CEO but will work closely with the COO, CPO, and pipeline managers.
Primary Responsibilities
Family Engagement:
- Work with parents to understand the college and career application process and assist with financial aid applications
- Conduct home visits to meet with students and their families
- Facilitate parenting workshops to support families in helping their children succeed.
- Work closely with the COO to track alumni and family progress and ensure the success of mentoring sessions, according to annual SMART goals
- Build and maintain positive relationships with students, families, and community partners
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of alumni and family progress and program outcomes, including required consent forms and parent data for grants

Elevate’s motto has always been, “Once in Elevate, Always in Elevate.” Our new Alumni Growth & Persistence Program is a fresh expression of our dedication to serve and support Elevate students as they transition into adulthood and pursue post-secondary goals.
Primary components for the initial launch of the program are described and center around the “4 C’s” of connectivity for our alumni to continue their pursuit towards a thriving future. Our Alumni Growth & Persistence Program will provide supplementary direct programming while aiming to direct connectivity to college resources, churches, community centers, and Elevate corporate partners.
- Mentorship: Provide one-on-one mentoring to help alumni navigate challenges and make informed decisions. Maintain regular contact with alumni to offer guidance, support, and encouragement toward setting and achieving holistic health goals
- In-person Support: Weekly and monthly support to visit alumni through Indiana colleges for mentoring success
- Provide coaching and support to young adult HS graduates pursuing college and workforce development tracks toward economic sustainability
- Encourage students to participate in the Alumni Support program
- Communicate regularly (weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly depending on the season) with participating students, providing guidance and connecting them to resources
- Create and maintain a database tracking the engagement of participating students
- Develop a network of relationships with relevant personnel at local colleges, community colleges, and trade certification programs
- Become fluent in enrollment criteria, scholarships, grants and internships available
- Data: Execute a short annual survey (electronic) with participating Alumni in both the college and career tracks to collect program data.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Family Pathways Coordinator for follow-ups and the Data Impact Coordinator to track results using the Salesforce platform. Consult with the Social Emotional Coach to identify and address any barriers alumni may face.
Essential Job Qualifications
· Entrepreneurial Operating System — Experience and/or ability to learn and adhere to EOS systems and implementation throughout all areas of engagement and fundraising SMART goals.
· In-person — This is an in-person position with occasional flexibility to work from home as approved in advance. Flexibility to shift work hours for evenings and weekend events as needed.
· Education — Four-year college education or two-year post-secondary degree and administrative experience preferred.
· Professional Development — Stays current in the nonprofit field, by reading nonprofit, education and youth service literature, articles, and news stories, and participating in outside organizational meetings, conferences and seminars, as appropriate.
· Experience — Minimum eight to ten years’ experience in an administrative leadership role in urban youth serving organization.
· Commitment — Willingness to provide support to Pathways staff in advancement of the Pathways program in a year-round position (including planning, organization, and event coordination)
· Driver’s License — Valid Indiana Driver’s License and Proof of Insurance
· Travel/Overnight Experiences — Willingness to attend professional development and student programming that might be overnight and out of state as required.
