Job Overview
The Manager of Family & Alumni Thriving at Elevate Indianapolis leads efforts to strengthen long-term, life-changing relationships with students, families, and alumni through holistic support, mentoring, and community engagement initiatives. This role oversees family engagement strategies such as home visits, resource coordination, special events, and crisis support while also developing alumni programming that promotes successful transitions into adulthood, post-secondary education, and career pathways.
The position collaborates closely with teacher-mentors, staff, and community partners to foster trust, expand opportunities, and ensure students and alumni remain connected to Elevate’s thriving youth network. Guided by Elevate’s mission of equipping urban youth to thrive and contribute to their communities, the Manager champions relationship-centered programming, tracks impact data, and helps create systems that strengthen long-term outcomes for students and families.

Specific Responsibilities
Alumni Growth & Persistence Impact- 75% of the position scope
- Attend Elevate Senior League and Elevate Beyond classes two times annually to encourage graduating students to participate in the alumni support program
- Communicate monthly with alumni, providing guidance and connecting them to resources in the community
- Maintain a Salesforce database tracking the engagement of participating alumni and their contact information
- Develop and maintain a network of relationships with relevant personnel at local colleges, community colleges and trade certification programs
- Become fluent in enrollment criteria, scholarships and grants available, and internships available
- Execute a short annual survey (electronic) with participating Alumni in both the college and career tracks to collect program data, two times annually
- Host monthly alumni events, primarily hosted at community partner companies, agencies, and community centers.

Alumni Growth & Persistence Program objective #1- Initial Transition to Post-High School relationship building and program development as defined.
Alumni Growth & Persistence Program objective #2- Ongoing Support: College Track relationship building and program development as defined.
Alumni Growth & Persistence Program objective #3- Ongoing Support: College Track relationship building through weekly visits to alumni attending colleges to help support and resource.
Alumni Growth & Persistence Program objective #4- Ongoing Support: Career Track relationship building and program development as defined.
Alumni Growth & Persistence Program objective #5- Tracking and Evaluation support in alignment with standard processes and procedures for impact tracking.
Family Engagement- 25% of the position scope
To serve and lead initiatives that strengthen multi-generational engagement and holistic support for individuals and families participating in organizational programming. Support staff members in delivering proactive, relationship-centered case management through training, practical tools, and ongoing guidance in areas including housing stability, employment support, financial counseling, and access to community resources.
Oversee program data, budgeting, reporting, and administrative functions to evaluate outcomes, improve effectiveness, and communicate organizational impact, reporting to the CEO and program management.
- Facilitate quarterly family counsel made up of parents of Elevate students and alumni, from across all school partners.
- Host quarterly family engagement events, in partnership with community centers, non-profits, and company partners.
- Lead staff training and development of all in-person new student home visits in August & January.
- Development bi-annual newsletter to be distributed to all Elevate families electronically, and available in print.
- Liasson with all community partners for parent and family impact opportunities.
- Other related responsibilities as assigned.
Essential Job Qualifications
Preferred Competencies
- Strategic program leadership with metrics and impact tracking strength
- 5+ years of experience in youth development, workforce development, or education
- Experience with career, college, or technical education providers
- Familiarity with family and alumni engagement organizations
- Experience working with underserved youth populations
- Bachelor’s degree in education, workforce development, or related field
- Travel/Overnight Experiences- Willingness to attend professional development and student programming that might be overnight and out of state as required.
- Effective community partnership communication and relationship building
- Mastery of communication skills, including written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Willingness to be coached and eagerness to learn new information
- Healthy personal relationship-building skills
- Ability to work and contribute in a team environment
- Ability to manage a variety of projects and goals, along with personal and team responsibilities
- Software skills, including existing mastery or capacity to quickly develop mastery of: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, OneDrive, SharePoint, Schoology, PowerSchool, the Google platform, and Salesforce
- Maintain a valid Indiana Driver’s license and auto insurance
- Completes 90 day annual 360 review performance process
